This gentleman can write!!!! What an exceptionally fine poet we find in Mr. Gordon Kuhn. A benchmark that, I feel, distinguishes at true master is if you are not only hooked on the first read, but you them find yourself constantly being drawn back too the book. time after time, and then discovering a totally different facet of the work. These moments make you feel like a kid opening a Christmas present. Rabbit in a box is just such a book. I did not "read" this book, I "felt" it very strongly. In my opinion, only an exceptionally fine writer is able effectively communicate such strong emotions. Anyone who may write poetry needs to read this book and see how a master approaches his work. There are some powerful sentiments here. Strong words softly spoken and raw emotions laid bare. I will return to these poems time and time again, they are thought-provoking and inspiring. I have MY favourites, now read it for yourself and choose yours.
You will find many of your own feelings and experiences reflected in this marvelous collection. These poems beg to be read aloud. Poetry is his way of expressing his emotions. Good, bad, love, or hate, for the reader. These specially selected words will comfort and console, encourage and support, through the days of despair to a future of hope.
Very well written, brings out all your emotions and when a book can do that you know it is an excellent read. I love the title Rabbit in a Box. I have found this little book to be quite a gem. I would definitely recommend it for anyone.
Especially good is "On Love" which touches the heart, and "On Music" that uplifts the soul. Many of the titles evoked my interest and attention, especially "Don't Mess With My Coffee" and "Lays". Well done!
Powerful poetry - free verse that may set you as free as it does the author. I have his WIDOWS CLIFF as well and recommend both of these books without reservation except that the thought, words and poetry are so powerful much of it will leave you stunned. I recommend that you read both aloud - to yourself or others, but don't be surprised at the tears or laughter you will not be able to hold back. These are not just books - they are life and death in words.
